DMX Control

  • Official comment

Sorry for the late reply, forum support was unavailable for a few days. You're right this is not explained in the help center yet, we'll add it promptly, thanks for the report!

These buttons appear so that you can use a single DMX channel for sequence selection or playback. For instance, if you assign a channel to "Sequence Select", when you send a value of “1” in the assigned DMX channel, HeavyM selects the sequence in the corresponding slot (1). And so on, if you send a value of 12, it selects the sequence in slot 12. It works similarly for "Sequence Play" but it triggers the Play button instead of the selection.

Hope that helps, don't hesitate to tell me if that's not clear enough.

    Have a nice day!

Thank you for the information. I had set my DMC Ch1 to Sequence Select, and Ch2 to Sequence Play but I found its results confusing. After some more testing I assume that each Sequence should be set to repeat. This setting enables me to use the DMX to play the sequences in any order.

I look forward to the documentation, but in the mean time I can see no use for the Sequence Select. It does work, but what is a typical use case for this control?

    Best regards.

Sorry for the confusion! But glad to hear that Sequence Play can be useful in your setup now.

Some people don't need to start the sequencer in their projects and like to only trigger the display of a sequence by selecting it for instance, that's one of the reasons why we added Sequence Select :)

    Have a nice day!
